Questions et réponses des clients
-
question:
Can these cut copper used for jewelry?
répondre: Copper is typically softer than the steel used in a cold chisel so it should be able to cut through the copper. -
question:
Can I use this to cut 5/16 inch stainless steel rope?
répondre: Unfortunately without knowing the hardness of the stainless steel, we cannot answer this for sure. Our chisel are hardened to 52-58 Rockwell. if the stainless is softer than that it would work. -
question:
How many degree is the tip?
répondre: The tip is a 60 degree angle. -
question:
Can these be used for masonry?
répondre: Mayhew Tools Cold Chisels act to shape and cut cold metal only. This set is used to cut and shape metals softer than the cutting edge of the chisel. It is not intended to be used on masonry materials.
Mayhew Metalworking Chisels 10602 Editorial Review
The Mayhew Select 10602 34-by-7-Inch Cold Chisel is a quality product that performs well for its intended purpose. The chisels are hardened to 52-58 Rockwell and designed to cut and shape metals that are softer than the cutting edge of the chisel. They are not intended to be used on masonry materials. Customers have used this chisel for various purposes, including cutting copper, scoring lines to break bricks, and opening up cracks in concrete. Users report that the chisels are durable, do not bend or dull easily, and provide a good value for the price. However, one customer reported that there are better chisels out there for safety and comfort, and wished they had picked up the Estwing 1-Inch Wide Cold Chisel instead. Additionally, some customers noted that this chisel might be on the short side. Overall, the Mayhew Select 10602 34-by-7-Inch Cold Chisel is a reliable tool for cutting and shaping metals softer than the chisel's cutting edge.
